Welcome to the official portal for the “4th Thailand Open Master Games – SUP Race” an exhilarating event where athletes paddle their way to glory. Hosted by the Thailand Surfing Federation at the scenic Green Lake Resort in Chiang Mai, this event is set to take place on February 24-25, 2024. Participants can register for two exciting categories: the challenging 6 km Technical Race or the fast-paced 300 m Sprint Distance. This multisport event is proudly organized in collaboration with the Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT), Thai Master Association, and Thai Health Promotion Foundation. Our SUP race will take place on a serene freshwater lake nestled within the resort area. This picturesque setting boasts an expansive lake, covering approximately 65,000 square meters, providing ample space for an exhilarating race experience. The water depth averages between 2 to 3 meters, ensuring a safe environment for participants of all skill levels. The lake is free from hazards, allowing racers to focus on their technique and enjoy the competition in a tranquil and secure setting. This idyllic location promises a unique and memorable racing experience for all participants.

Offering comfort and proximity to the race venue, it’s an excellent choice for participants and spectators alike. Age Groups

The event features the following age group categories for both men and women:

  1. 30-39 Years: A competitive category for athletes in their prime, offering a blend of experience and vigor.
  2. 40-49 Years: Catering to seasoned paddlers who bring a wealth of experience and skill to the race.
  3. 50-59 Years: A testament to enduring athleticism, this group showcases the talent of experienced racers.
  4. 60 and Up: Celebrating the spirit of lifelong athleticism, this category is for our most seasoned and inspiring competitors.

Each age group category offers a unique racing experience, highlighting the diverse range of skills and determination across different life stages.

Registration Fee for each Athlete: 800THB

The entry fee for the event is 800 THB, which includes participation in both the Technical Sprint and the 6K Technical Race, offering a comprehensive racing experience. Additionally, this fee also entitles you to a free event t-shirt, adding extra value to your participation.

Equipment Specifications

SUP Race Craft & Specifications:

a. Board Design: The standup paddleboard (SUP) must have a single hull design.

b. Fins: The SUP should have stationary or non-correctional fins. The use of a fin box is allowed, but the board must not be equipped with a rudder.

c. Board Length: The maximum allowable length for the SUP is 14 feet. This measurement is taken along the deck of the board.

d. Paddles: Competitors are required to use a single blade paddle in all race classes.

These equipment specifications are designed to ensure fair and consistent competition across all race events. All competitors are advised to check their equipment in advance of the competition to ensure compliance with these regulations. Any equipment found to be in violation of these specifications will not be permitted for use in the competition.
