“Nathakorn” Crowned Champion of Grom Attack! – Thailand Junior Surf Contest 2023 in Phang Nga

The thrilling Grom Attack! – Thailand Junior Surf Contest 2023, organized in collaboration between Phang Nga Provincial Administration and the Thailand Surfing Federation, was held on the 19th and 20th of August 2023 at Natai Beach Bridge, Kok Kloi Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, Phang Nga. The event marked a new landmark for freediving.

The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Tharathip Thongjerm, President of the Phang Nga Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Chinin Ayrak, President of the Thailand Surfing Federation, and Mr. Atthapol Trisri, Member of the House of Representatives for Phang Nga Province.

The competition was divided into three categories: Boys and Girls under 14, and Men under 18, featuring more than 100 participants from 10 countries. The main sponsors of the event included Mali Dairy Brand, Farmhouse Haadthip, Royal-D, Doublegoose T-shirts, Rnana Grand Resort, Sun Zapper, Nomorewalk Surfskate, and Surf and Ocean Foundation.

In the under 14 male category, the championship was won by Patchar Tiengnoi, followed by Ramin Armonchuen as the runner-up. Tinn Johnson and Ken Srisud shared the third spot. Lallana Sinsorak claimed the championship in the under 14 female category, defeating Montita Na Takua Thung, who secured the runner-up position. Third place was shared by Matinya Ashley Holmberg and Siripassorn Eiwskul.

The under 18 male category saw Nathakorn Saeyiew emerging as the champion, followed by Nathaphon Yaemsila. Amos Lehmuskallio and Pongsakorn Saewangpha shared the third spot.

After the completion of the Grom Attack! – Thailand Junior Surf Contest 2023, the awards were presented by Mr. Chayaphon Hiranyakanokkul, President of the Phang Nga Tourism Industry Council, and Mr. Chinin Aiyrak, President of the Thailand Surfing Federation, to the champions and runners-up of various categories.

This event not only showcased the vibrant future of Thai surfing but also brought together the international community in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.
