Khaolak Surf Festival 2023 Concludes with Stunning Performances and Beach Clean-up
Khaolak, Thailand – 18th June 2023 – The final day of the Khaolak Surf Festival 2023, organized by the Thailand Surfing Federation, was graced with perfect weather conditions that improved the wave shapes compared to the previous day. The event brought together a diverse field of surfers showcasing their talents across several categories.
In the Men’s Open Shortboard, Indonesia’s Pito Wardana claimed victory with a score of 13.65, winning a cash prize of 20,000 THB. The Women’s Open Shortboard was topped by Thailand’s own Annissa Flynn, with a score of 10.00 and a similar cash reward.
The Men’s Open Longboard saw Nathan Sadoun from France come out on top with an impressive score of 15.75, while the Women’s Open Longboard was won by Flora Cristin Butar Butar from Indonesia with a score of 8.20.
A special mention goes to the local talent that made it to the podium. Pattana Kenkhuntod, Sitipong Chapman, Phatchara Tiangnoi, Lunlana Sinsoke, Proud Panutatsanaporn, Mathiya Ashley Holmberg, Werawat Kuru, and Suwaprapa Khambutdi showcased the promising future of Thai surfing.
Following the award presentation, athletes and audience members participated in a joint beach clean-up, emphasizing the surfing community’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
The festival will conclude tonight with a free-entry concert on the main beach stage featuring Ton Trakul and Maiyarap from 08:30 PM until midnight.
