Amazing Phuket Plus Surf Fest 2023: Thailand’s Surfing Season Begins with an Integrated Sports Tourism and Lifestyle Competition
February 22nd, 2023 – Thailand Surfing Federation held a preparatory meeting on February 22, 2023, for the Amazing Phuket Plus Surf Fest 2023, which is an upcoming surfing competition that will integrate sports tourism and lifestyle. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Chanin Aiyarak, President of Thailand Surfing Federation, and was attended by representatives of the Phuket Surf Clubs and Phang-Nga Province.
The competition will be held at 5 major surfing spots in Thailand, starting from Khao Lak, Phang-Nga Province on May 5-7, 2023. The other locations are Kata Beach, Phuket Province on May 19-21, 2023, Kamala Beach, Phuket Province on June 2-4, 2023, Patong Beach, Phuket Province on June 16-18, 2023, and Surin Beach, Phuket Province on June 23-25, 2023. The objective of the event is to attract sports tourists and promote Thailand’s famous surf spots on the world stage.
Mr. Chanin Aiyarak expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Sports Authority of Thailand, National Sports Development Fund, and local agencies in both Phuket and Phang-Nga provinces for supporting the event. He also mentioned that the event will not only attract new athletes, but it will also provide an opportunity for former athletes to compete with foreign athletes and showcase their skills. Additionally, the event marks the beginning of the surfing season in Thailand, which will be publicized globally and attract sports tourists to Thailand during the green season.
Apart from the surfing competitions, Amazing Phuket Plus Surf Fest 2023 will also include trade fairs, restaurants, music events, and other recreational activities.
