20 May 2023, K.Thulusdhoo, Maldives – The Asian Surfing Federation (ASF) collaborates with the Maldives Surfing Association and the Ministry of Youth Sports & Community Empowerment to stage the 2023 ASF Asian Surfing Championships. The competition is slated to unfold from July 8 to July 17 at the renowned Cokes Surf Break in K.Thulusdhoo, Maldives.
Travelers can conveniently reach the venue by a brief speedboat journey from Male International Airport. Participants and spectators alike are in for a treat at the world-renowned surf location “Cokes”, colloquially referred to as Randhaa Raalhugandu. The site is acclaimed for its consistent and large waves, which are the pride of this Asian Championship.
The championship is confined to short board divisions only, with categories including the Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Junior U18 Boys and Girls, and the Aloha Cup. Each Member State is permitted to present a maximum of six athletes per division, who must be representing their national team via their country’s surfing associations.
The ASF, acknowledged by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Asian Olympic Council (AOC), is honored to sponsor and govern this competition. This venture signifies our dedication to fostering and enhancing surfing and other related activities throughout Asia.
